Do you have a comment you would like to leave?

I encourage everyone to give their views about whether or not a headstone should be photographed - both positive and negative.

I am more than happy to show both sides of the debate - as I have had people accuse me of being disrespectful to the dead by photographing.  The subject of privacy issues has also been raised.

Below are just a few questions to think about.

    What are your views?

Is a cemetery a public place?

If a cemetery does not have a photographic policy in place and visible at the cemetery - should you be able to photograph headstones?

Does a cemetery's regulations prohibit photography?

Does a death or funeral notice in a newspaper provide more personal information about a deceased family than a single name on this website?

If privacy is an issue with family members, why erect a headstone with the information on it in a publicly accessible cemetery for people to view?

Does this spell the death of genealogy research?
