Passionflower
This flower symbolizes Christ's Passion. Redemption, and Crucifixion.
Spaniards who discovered the flowers in the tropical rainforests of South America named the passionflower.
The flowers were brought back to Rome in 1568, where they became an extremely popular flower.
The passionflower is also known as a Maypop, because, modern folklore says it pops out in May, or its fruits make a popping sound when stepped on.
